STAND UP TODAY FOR THE LIVES OF UNBORN CHILDREN
...the most powerful personal story against abortion I have ever heard

Psalm 139:13-16
13 For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.

Abortion is murder. Abortion is infanticide. Abortion is the silent holocaust.

It is the purposed extinction of millions of children. It is sin. It is money driven; and through Planned Parenthood, abortion racially profiles the African-American community. Planned Parenthood is the leader in the abortion mill industry and they are supported by hundreds of millions of taxpayer's dollars every year.

Our newly elected President, Barack Obama, supports the murder of unborn children in all its barbaric forms. He praises Planned Parenthood for their work in this field; he doesn't want his daughters burdened with a baby if they were to make a mistake; he wants to put into law FOCA; and he thinks choosing life and determining human rights for a baby is above his pay grade. But choosing death for the unborn citizens of our nation... this he feels qualified to do. Pray for him beloved; pray for his salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; pray the Lord changes his heart on this issue; pray that God will prohibit him from making FOCA law. Pray for revival and reformation for our nation and that our land will repent of this atrocity; for "the blood of the innocents" cry out judgment against us.

There are 49,000,000 reasons to stir your hearts, quicken your minds, and arrest your souls on this issue. Stand up for the unborn children today in your town. Choose life. Listen below to abortion survivor, Gianna Jessen's, personal story. It is one of the most moving and powerful I have ever heard. She is truly a miracle from God to us all and is unashamed of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ..

TO THE GOD OF OUR MANY UNDERSTANDINGS
...Gay Bishop offers prayer to a god of his own creation

Psalm 50:21-22
21 These things you have done, and I have been silent;
you thought that I was just like you.
But now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you.

22 “Mark this, then, you who forget God,
lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver!

Isaiah 5:20-21
20 Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
and shrewd in their own sight!

A Prayer for the Nation and Our Next President, Barack Obama

By The Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson, Episcopal Bishop of New Hampshire

Opening Inaugural Event
Lincoln Memorial, Washington, DC
January 18, 2009

"Welcome to Washington! The fun is about to begin, but first, please join me in pausing for a moment, to ask God’s blessing upon our nation and our next president.

O God of our many understandings, we pray that you will…

Bless us with tears – for a world in which over a billion people exist on less than a dollar a day, where young women from many lands are beaten and raped for wanting an education, and thousands die daily from malnutrition, malaria, and AIDS.

Bless us with anger – at discrimination, at home and abroad, against refugees and immigrants, women, people of color, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

Bless us with discomfort – at the easy, simplistic “answers” we’ve preferred to hear from our politicians, instead of the truth, about ourselves and the world, which we need to face if we are going to rise to the challenges of the future.

Bless us with patience – and the knowledge that none of what ails us will be “fixed” anytime soon, and the understanding that our new president is a human being, not a messiah.

Bless us with humility – open to understanding that our own needs must always be balanced with those of the world.

Bless us with freedom from mere tolerance – replacing it with a genuine respect and warm embrace of our differences, and an understanding that in our diversity, we are stronger.

Bless us with compassion and generosity – remembering that every religion’s God judges us by the way we care for the most vulnerable in the human community, whether across town or across the world.

And God, we give you thanks for your child Barack, as he assumes the office of President of the United States.

Give him wisdom beyond his years, and inspire him with Lincoln’s reconciling leadership style, President Kennedy’s ability to enlist our best efforts, and Dr. King’s dream of a nation for ALL the people.

Give him a quiet heart, for our Ship of State needs a steady, calm captain in these times.

Give him stirring words, for we will need to be inspired and motivated to make the personal and common sacrifices necessary to facing the challenges ahead.

Make him color-blind, reminding him of his own words that under his leadership, there will be neither red nor blue states, but the United States.

Help him remember his own oppression as a minority, drawing on that experience of discrimination, that he might seek to change the lives of those who are still its victims.

Give him the strength to find family time and privacy, and help him remember that even though he is president, a father only gets one shot at his daughters’ childhoods.

And please, God, keep him safe. We know we ask too much of our presidents, and we’re asking FAR too much of this one. We know the risk he and his wife are taking for all of us, and we implore you, O good and great God, to keep him safe. Hold him in the palm of your hand – that he might do the work we have called him to do, that he might find joy in this impossible calling, and that in the end, he might lead us as a nation to a place of integrity, prosperity and peace.

AMEN.

(May I encourage you, please pray earnestly for Bishop Robinson that the true God of the Bible would grant him godly sorrow leading to repentance from sin, genuine saving faith to believe, and the grace to confess and know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.)

BARACK OBAMA'S CHRISTIANITY
...playing politics with God

UPDATED - THIS IS A MUST SEE

In 2004, Chicago Sun Times columnist Cathleen Falsani interviewed Barack Obama about his faith when he was running for U.S. Senate in Illinois. It has proven to be nothing less than controversial. Here are a few excerpts below and would encourage all of you to read the entire transcript.

I believe this powerful interview can serve three purposes for us as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

(And please know my heart that the following three things are not derived or driven by race, political party affiliation, or cultural proclivity. But from a burden for the church to be the church and to function and exist biblically in the world where God has sovereignly placed us to live for "such a time as this...")

With that in mind, I humbly submit the following:
1. To know further how we can pray for President-elect Obama as a politial leader; and spiritually, for his conversion (1 Tim. 2:1-4).

2. To gain greater insight into his worldview on how he would govern concerning key issues pertaining to family, faith, and sanctity of life issues such as abortion or euthanasia (Roms. 13:1-7).

3. Lastly, so that we can better prepare and equip ourselves biblically for what I believe will be a coming persecution of genuine believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who live and proclaim the gospel of sola fide in this nation (1 Peter 4:12-19).
VIVIT,
Steve

FALSANI:
Who's Jesus to you?

(He laughs nervously)

OBAMA:
Right.

Jesus is an historical figure for me, and he's also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher.

And he's also a wonderful teacher. I think it's important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history.

FALSANI:
Is Jesus someone who you feel you have a regular connection with now, a personal connection with in your life?

OBAMA:
Yeah. Yes. I think some of the things I talked about earlier are addressed through, are channeled through my Christian faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

FALSANI:
Have you read the bible?

OBAMA:
Absolutely.

I read it not as regularly as I would like. These days I don't have much time for reading or reflection, period.

FALSANI:
Do you try to take some time for whatever, meditation prayer reading?

OBAMA:
I'll be honest with you, I used to all the time, in a fairly disciplined way. But during the course of this campaign, I don't. And I probably need to and would like to, but that's where that internal monologue, or dialogue I think supplants my opportunity to read and reflect in a structured way these days.

It's much more sort of as I'm going through the day trying to take stock and take a moment here and a moment there to take stock, why am I here, how does this connect with a larger sense of purpose.

FALSANI:
Do you have people in your life that you look to for guidance?

OBAMA:
Well, my pastor [Jeremiah Wright] is certainly someone who I have an enormous amount of respect for.

I have a number of friends who are ministers. Reverend Meeks is a close friend and colleague of mine in the state Senate. Father Michael Pfleger is a dear friend, and somebody I interact with closely.

FALSANI:
Those two will keep you on your toes.

OBAMA:
And theyr'e good friends. Because both of them are in the public eye, there are ways we can all reflect on what's happening to each of us in ways that are useful.

I think they can help me, they can appreciate certain specific challenges that I go through as a public figure.

FALSANI:
The conversation stopper, when you say you're a Christian and leave it at that.

OBAMA:
Where do you move forward with that?

This is something that I'm sure I'd have serious debates with my fellow Christians about. I think that the difficult thing about any religion, including Christianity, is that at some level there is a call to evangelize and prostelytize. There's the belief, certainly in some quarters, that people haven't embraced Jesus Christ as their personal savior that they're going to hell.

FALSANI:
You don't believe that?

OBAMA:
I find it hard to believe that my God would consign four-fifths of the world to hell.

I can't imagine that my God would allow some little Hindu kid in India who never interacts with the Christian faith to somehow burn for all eternity.

That's just not part of my religious makeup.

Part of the reason I think it's always difficult for public figures to talk about this is that the nature of politics is that you want to have everybody like you and project the best possible traits onto you. Oftentimes that's by being as vague as possible, or appealing to the lowest commong denominators. The more specific and detailed you are on issues as personal and fundamental as your faith, the more potentially dangerous it is.

FALSANI:
Do you ever have people who know you're a Christian question a particular stance you take on an issue, how can you be a Christian and ...

OBAMA:
Like the right to choose.

I haven't been challenged in those direct ways. And to that extent, I give the public a lot of credit. I'm always stuck by how much common sense the American people have. They get confused sometimes, watch FoxNews or listen to talk radio. That's dangerous sometimes. But generally, Americans are tolerant and I think recognize that faith is a personal thing, and they may feel very strongly about an issue like abortion or gay marriage, but if they discuss it with me as an elected official they will discuss it with me in those terms and not, say, as 'you call yourself a Christian.' I cannot recall that ever happening.

FALSANI:
Do you believe in heaven?

OBAMA:
Do I believe in the harps and clouds and wings?

FALSANI:
A place spiritually you go to after you die?

OBAMA:
What I believe in is that if I live my life as well as I can, that I will be rewarded. I don't presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die. But I feel very strongly that whether the reward is in the here and now or in the hereafter, the aligning myself to my faith and my values is a good thing.

When I tuck in my daughters at night and I feel like I've been a good father to them, and I see in them that I am transferring values that I got from my mother and that they're kind people and that they're honest people, and they're curious people, that's a little piece of heaven.

FALSANI:
Do you believe in sin?

OBAMA:
Yes.

FALSANI:
What is sin?

OBAMA:
Being out of alignment with my values.

FALSANI:
What happens if you have sin in your life?

OBAMA:
I think it's the same thing as the question about heaven. In the same way that if I'm true to myself and my faith that that is its own reward, when I'm not true to it, it's its own punishment.

HOW TO BEGIN TO PRAY FOR PRESIDENT-ELECT OBAMA
...let the Scriptures guide our thoughts

Proverbs 11:
11:1 A false balance is an abomination to the Lord,
but a just weight is his delight.

2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with the humble is wisdom.

3 The integrity of the upright guides them,
but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.

4 Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death.

5 The righteousness of the blameless keeps his way straight,
but the wicked falls by his own wickedness.

6 The righteousness of the upright delivers them,
but the treacherous are taken captive by their lust.

7 When the wicked dies, his hope will perish,
and the expectation of wealth perishes too.

8 The righteous is delivered from trouble,
and the wicked walks into it instead.

9 With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.

10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices,
and when the wicked perish there are shouts of gladness.

11 By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted,
but by the mouth of the wicked it is overthrown.

12 Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense,
but a man of understanding remains silent.

13 Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets,
but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.

14 Where there is no guidance, a people falls,
but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.

15 Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer harm,
but he who hates striking hands in pledge is secure.

16 A gracious woman gets honor,
and violent men get riches.

17 A man who is kind benefits himself,
but a cruel man hurts himself.

18 The wicked earns deceptive wages,
but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward.

19 Whoever is steadfast in righteousness will live,
but he who pursues evil will die.

20 Those of crooked heart are an abomination to the Lord,
but those of blameless ways are his delight.

21 Be assured, an evil person will not go unpunished,
but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.

22 Like a gold ring in a pig's snout
is a beautiful woman without discretion.

23 The desire of the righteous ends only in good;
the expectation of the wicked in wrath.

24 One gives freely, yet grows all the richer;
another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.

25 Whoever brings blessing will be enriched,
and one who waters will himself be watered.

26 The people curse him who holds back grain,
but a blessing is on the head of him who sells it.

27 Whoever diligently seeks good seeks favor,
but evil comes to him who searches for it.

28 Whoever trusts in his riches will fall,
but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.

29 Whoever troubles his own household will inherit the wind,
and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
and whoever captures souls is wise.

31 If the righteous is repaid on earth,
how much more the wicked and the sinner!

THE REBIRTH OF PRINCIPLED OPPOSITION
...honoring elected officials doesn't mean we cannot challenge them, oppose them, or debate them

by Rush Limbaugh
"In America today, the sun seems to be shining a little brighter; the birds are chirping happier melodies. The smell of spring has displaced Old Man Winter. In fact, winter will not come this year; its cold, harsh winds won't chill the souls of men (or women).

The shackles of the past -- which for so long have bound too many of us -- have been shaken loose. And the process of rebuilding the conservative movement has begun. This is the rebirth of principled opposition. An opposition rooted in conviction; not opposition for opposition's sake, or political expedience.

The road will be steep, but I know as a people we will get there:
•Can we oppose the idea that confiscatory taxation produces prosperity, when in fact it punishes economic growth? Yes, we can!
•Can we oppose the notion that our national greatness is derived from an ever-growing government -- instead of the freedom from government our Founders envisioned? Yes, we can!
•Can we oppose the belief that one's earnings must be redistributed for the false promise of fairness? Yes, we can!
•Can we oppose the belief that it is immoral to secure our own borders, or defend ourselves from terrorists intent on destroying us? Yes, we can!
Can we do all that and more? [protecting the rights of unborn children; defending the Defense of Marriage Act; guarding our first and second amendment rights; etc.] Yes, we can!

Because now it is plain for one and all to see: taking the moderate path of appeasement leads to abysmal defeat.

Conservatives are free at last! Thank God Almighty, we're free at last -- to seek the mountaintop!"

YES WE CAN!
...not really. It's God alone who determines the purpose of elections and governments by His sovereign will - not yours Senator

Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Daniel answered and said:

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
to whom belong wisdom and might.
He changes times and seasons;
he removes kings and sets up kings;
he gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those who have understanding;
he reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him.
To you, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and might,
and have now made known to me what we asked of you,
for you have made known to us the king's matter.”
-Daniel 2:19b-23

Those words of Daniel have been a tremendous source of encouragement to my heart and mind in the aftermath of this present election. Though Senator Obama was not my candidate of choice, as of January 20th, he will be my President and I will honor him and pray for him as such (Roms. 13:1-7; Titus 3:1-2). Though I do not condone his political convictions or ideology on several different levels, I without reservation trust the Lord and His sovereignty in the outcome of this election.

I also think, as it was with King Saul, that the Lord has given the people of our nation a leader that is the mirror image of their own depraved moorings, maginations and maladies. IOW, this is God's judgment on our nation; not one of God's blessing on our nation.

It hasn't even been 48 hours since Barack Obama became the President-elect and the stock market reacted and reacted very negatively in letting the world know what they think of his victory. In less than two days, the market is down more than 800 points! This is unprecedented and the worst reaction of the stock market in history after any Presidential election.

Here are some of the things that President-elect Obama seeks to invoke ASAP when taking office:
1. Employee Free Choice Act
2. The Fairness Doctrine
3. Freedom of Choice Act
4. National Civilian Security Force
5. Withdraw from Iraq immediately
6. Close Military Bases
7. Treat terrorists as if they were American citizens
8. A lack of Comprehensive Immigration Reform
9. Capital Gains Tax Increase
10. Defense Cuts
11. Liberal Judicial Appointments to the Supreme Court
12. Re-invoking Racial Preferences, Quotas and Affirmative Action
13. Establish Socialism as the New Democracy
14. Repeal DOMA
ETC.

This is going to be an interesting four years... isn't it? A sober cause for prayer, for a greater and more bold proclamation of the gospel, and for Christians to biblically engage their communities unashamedly with the truth of Scripture. Here me straight on this: this is not a call for an accelerated political engagement by more evangelicals, but for a more vibrant and visible biblical demonstration of faith, local church involvement, missions, evangelism, worship, and the uncompromised preaching of God's Word from God's people and pastors.

Adding more fuel to the fire: the only leading "evangelical" spokesman being interviewed Tuesday night before Obama gave his acceptance speech was heretic and Sabellianist, T.D. Jakes. Two of Obama's spiritual advisors to date have been emergent religious liberals: Donald Miller and Brian McLaren. And furthermore, I just read today that social liberal and abhorrent emergent leader, Doug Pagitt, has announced that he will be running for the Minnesota state legislature in 2010.

(Such news needs no further commentary from myself.)

May I encourage you to do something today? Pray for our nation; pray for President-elect Obama; pray for Reformation to come to the church in America; pray for Christian men and women to really live out their faith in the public arena with the courage to speak what God has deemed eternal and essential. And may we begin with the gospel; and then practically in response to the second commandment to "love your neighbor...", support the rights, dignity and life of all unborn children.

May some evangelical leaders by God's grace
rise up and be the Nathan to the King
and John the Baptist to Herod.

So in the midst of this kind of darkness beloved, may we fearlessly live and proclaim the glorious good news of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. And in doing so, may we just not be hearers of the Word - but doers of it; being salt and light to this dying generation.

Enjoy these brilliant comics below that a reader of this blog emailed me yesterday.

ACORN REGISTERS MICKEY MOUSE TO VOTE
...another failed Obama alliance - he has much to explain

UPDATE: Stanley Kurtz at National Review Online has an excellent article on Obama and his alliances concerning the election. Obama funded extremist Afrocentrists who shared Rev. Wright’s anti-Americanism and as Kurtz said, "it looks like Jeremiah Wright was just the tip of the iceberg." IT IS A MUST READ.

<----------------------->

Just when you thought you could trust voter registration organizations to really vet out those "signing up" to participate in the upcoming Presidential election - this kind of blatant fraudulent activity takes place. But Mickey Mouse? The world's most famous mouse WAS actually registered to vote in Florida this past summer. (Personally... I always liked Daffy Duck better.) I guess community organizers DO have something to answer for...

Initially, I thought this was political satire or spin; but no, it is the real thing. Read about it here. This does bring into question again Barack Obama's full on endorsement of ACORN and his $800k that he gave to them to register new voters before the primaries and his legal defense of them several years ago. It is no surprise that ACORN has fully backed Obama for President and it has been suggested by some pundits that they don't register Republicans. Barack has tried several times to Nashville two-step his affiliation with ACORN. The Maverick must confront him at the debate tomorrow night on this issue. If innocent of any conflict of interest, then Obama should be able to give the American people a reasonable defense of his involvement with them and publicly decry such practices as this.

Agreed?

OBAMA at a Heartland Democratic Presidential Forum on December 1, 2007 referring to ACORN when he said:
Yes. But let me say that before I even get inaugurated, during the transition we're going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda. (cheering) We're going to be having meetings all across the country with community organizations so that you have input into the agenda of the next presidency of the United States of America!
Anyone getting just a little bit nervous yet?

Last evening on FOXNEWS, Greta Van Susteren did a powerful interview with a representative from ACORN. With only three weeks to go till the election, this is potentially catastrophic in determining the next President of the United States. This concern is dramatically compounded especially when considering early voting taking place in several key battleground states. Regardless of who wins this election, the integrity of the voter process must be guarded and protected.

OBAMANATION
...Messiah or moronic? what happens when you believe your own press release

By Jonah Goldberg

Asked to define sin, Barack Obama replied that sin is "being out of alignment with my values." Statements such as this have caused many people to wonder whether Obama has a God complex or is hopelessly arrogant. For the record, sin isn't being out of alignment with your own values (if it were, Hannibal Lecter wouldn't be a sinner because his values hold that it's OK to eat people) nor is it being out of alignment with Obama's — unless he really is our Savior.

How Should We Define Sin?
Here is what the Scriptures say:

Rom. 3:20 because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin. Rom. 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Rom. 5:12 ¶ Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned— Rom. 7:7 ¶ What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “YOU SHALL NOT COVET.” Rom. 14:23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.

1 Cor. 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law;

Gal. 3:22 But the Scripture has shut up everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

1 John 3:4 ¶ Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

OBAMANATION: THE REAL DEAL OR SENATOR "ELLE WOODS"
...a candidate of conviction or political expediency?

This is a great video-log of what Obama stands for... or doesn't.
Empty suit or gifted politician?

Check it out.

Vote with your mind, not your heart.
Don't take this freedom for granted.
Truth matters.

Know the issues; stay informed; move beyond the rhetoric.
He's now targeting evangelicals. Is he a man of faith, fiction, or facts?

What do you think?

"By justice a king builds up the land,
but he who taxes heavily tears it down."
-Proverbs 29:4
