That was cool. Can't believe I watched MSNBC, though.

Sorry to have to put through such pain by watching PMSNBC :-).

Good stuff though on Sully... Worth the trip to the left coast for a few minutes.

My mac did not want to go there..I trusted you, though. Good stuff.

Now I gotta get out my dictionary for your posting on MacArthur. (jk)

I truly hope that your ventures with your dictionary do not result in floccinaucinihilipilification.

Wait a minute...I am still on "lubricious"...

Funny, there was no speaker beside the word "floccinaucinihilipilification." Guess I'll have to sound it out myself.

Time with a dictionary rarely yields floccinaucinihilipilification. Words mean things. Don't doubt me.

Words do mean something and that is the joy and burden for any of us in the blogosphere to use them wisely.

Now, we should not be known as sesquipedalian for the sake of being sesquipedalian. Sometimes the brevity of a more common word can communicate much more as seen by Captain Sully's gracious acceptance speech.

BTW, dictionary.com always has a great audible to help pronounce even the most difficult of words.

Grace and peace,
Steve

That is some pretty witty stuff. Good to start the day with some humor. Thanks.

I agree with you that words do mean something - especially when it comes to our faith. Thank you for being precise on key doctrinal issues here.

Captain Sully is a hero. Humility really marks this man. Do you know if he is a Christian or not?

Great video.

Good word and I am glad you enjoyed this video.

I don't know if Captain Sully knows Christ or not. His gracious demeanor marked with humility would suggest to one that he might be believer. I will see what I can find in other articles about him.

We can continue to pray for him and thank the Lord for his courageous landing of that flight. By God's sovereign hand, over 150 lives were spared that day. SDG!

I wrote a piece here awhile back on Philology. You might be interested in it for it pertains to words and their use.

Have a great Lord's Day!

I am pursuing a question that was posted earlier. Did you find out if he is a Christian or not? In a group of Christian women tonight, they were commenting that they had not heard him give God the glory, or any other mention of asking God for help, etc. during the event -- so they have concluded that he is not. I think that it's unfair to make a snap judgement and would love to hear that he is, in fact, walking with God. Please try to find out.
