In the last 2 or 3 years, this has become my favorite Christmas song....(second is "O Holy Night.") This version is especially moving....thanks for posting.

I agree. It is down-home and unvarnished. I love the simplicity of it and therefore the venerability of it as well.

Speaking of Christmas music, Bob Bennett has just posted a new song on his website:

It's available for free download under the "Song of the Month" link at upper left. He calls it a 'demo recording,' but it sounds as good to me as any of the fully produced songs on his recent albums.

Back to Sufjan Stevens - he also did a recording of "Holy, Holy, Holy" that is just marvelous. It was also available for free at one time.
