DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW
...have the presidential campaigns run out of energy?

But Nancy Pelosi and Barack keep saying it will take ten years to get oil out of ANWR. Of course ten years from now they will say the same thing and we will be in the same pickle. Who needs energy independence when the nanny state will bail us out of our mortgages, our credit cards, our student loans? Just give more power to D.C. and they will make it all better.

Honestly, other than Gov. Palin, there is rapidly becoming less and less difference in the campaigns. McCain voted for a huge bailout. The Bush adminsitration is talking about the Federal Government taking control of banks. The country we knew is raidly becoming one we used to know. We called it the Soviet Union.

Killing babies would be a big difference.

Good to have you post here.

The economy has made socialists of the best intentioned free marketers. Sad.

We should trust the process and the American people in business to make the correction; not the Feds. I mean, they can't even balance their own cheque-book let alone fix the housing market, stock market, clean up Fannie and Freddie, etc.

IMHO, Barney Frank and Chris Dodds should be fired immediately and have to answer for their participation in the Fannie Freddie demise.

Stan, McCain is solidly pro-life when it comes to abortion itself but has been kind of wish-washy on embryonic stem cells. If life begins at conception, wouldn't the consistent pro-life position be that creating a unique human life and then destroying it for research is at least as heinous as an abortion?

Yes.

Well, glad we agree on that.

I am certainly not suggesting there is no difference between Obama and McCain when it comes to abortion. Quite the opposite. I find Obama's disregard for human life repulsive.

What I am saying is that the GOP has abandoned it's conservative principles when it comes to smaller government and the free market. I have been a supporter of McCain since he became the nominee, but I hardly place my trust unreservedly in a politician. As McCain and Bush have shown with this whole fiasco, politicians can and do change heartfelt positions when the political winds blow in a new direction.

Arthur Sido,

Very much so. I think Obama might even make Josef Mengele blush.

In my opinion, rather than Democrats and Republicans we should refer to our two parties as Communists and Socialists.

Sad.
