IF YOU THINK ABORTION IS ALL ABOUT CHOICE, THINK AGAIN
...planned parenthood's dirty little secret - the color of money

I just saw this video a few minutes ago and wept.

The abortion industry is not just about the murder
of unborn children, it is also about targeted racial
cleansing through (are you ready?) specific financial gifting.
One presidential candidate supports not only abortion,
but is on record in supporting partial birth abortion
and live abortion as well. I wonder how his constituents
would feel about this reality?

This isn't freedom; this isn't choice; this is whole$ale genocide.

13 For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
(Psalm 139)

Hey Steve, it's Joe. Just watched the video with mom, and it could not be more timely. We just had our Black Student Union assembly at our school today. As we speak I am posting this video to facebook so that people can learn of this targeted racial cleansing.

Oh, how sad. I can’t even speak --- it’s just too heartbreaking and horrific for words, though it's only right that our hearts should break.

gunnar: amen.

As an African-American, it's not the abortion issue itself that bothers me. Guess what? Contrary to conventional wisdom, this is not at all about racism on the part of Planned Parenthood or "liberal" organizations.

The first issue is the lack of hope in the black community in large part because of racism perpetrated by ideological conservatives, formerly by law and beginning in 1981 by just plain neglect. I find it hypocritical that the same people who go crazy about abortion -- which I do oppose, by the way -- are nowhere to be found when it comes to social and economic justice for the downtrodden (which helps cause abortion in the first place, albeit indirectly) and in fact even opposed it at times.

Did you realize, for example, that a higher percentage of black boys are aborted? Know why? "Well, they'll just become criminals" or get involved in other dysfunctional behavior. And with the special challenges that black males face in this society -- I happen to be one -- few Christians are willing to consider their own complicity in the process.

Perhaps we as believers ought to look a little deeper rather than simply making Planned Parenthood into a convenient scapegoat.

Help me understand. The African American community has pledged their support to the Democratic party for several decades now. This has resulted in:

Higher rates of abortion
Higher rates of high school drop outs
Higher rates of unemployment
Higher rates of divorce
Higher rates of incarceration
Higher rates of single parent households

Looking to the government via the Democratic party to solve the problems doesn't seem to be working, but you would say that ideological conservatives are still the problem.

We have bought ourselves a 59 trillion dollar debt (that is the equivalent of 500K per household) in an effort to use the government as a means of "taking care" of it's citizens.

Thanks for sharing this information, I had no idea.

justjan -- This is an issue of ideology, not of parties.

That said, the reason the African-American community supports primarily Democrats is due directly to ideological conservatives, who now run the Republican Party, historically opposing any progress in its favor; it in fact has no real love for liberals or Democrats. And, the truth be told, the "higher rates" of things you mentioned took place under Republicans.

If we are to be truly "pro-life" and truly Reformed, believing that all of life is precious because it's given by God, we cannot afford to isolate such issues from the big picture, which is that isolating abortion as particularly heinous masks problems, often financial, going on in families that no one addressed. If we as Christians worked to, say, encourage our black brothers (and not just people like myself) to "do the right thing" and work for their good we might see things turn around. And part of that means erasing stereotypes of black men that even many Christians have.

Opposing abortion in this fashion raises a lot of passion, let alone money, but it does nothing to eliminate it -- and the politicians sure know that.

What causes abortion... is abortion. Planned Parenthood is to blame. All else is smoke and mirrors.

And how are Christians complicit in this process exactly? All Christians?

Please explain...

Grace and truth,
Steve

Gladly, Steve, and thanks for asking.

To consider the roots of abortion, you have to look at the reality that people are having illicit sexual relations. That, however, cannot be isolated from the fact that they do so not simply because of the culture we live in but because certain emotional needs are or were not being met at home, often because there's either no father figure or a poor one. (And a lot of that is connected to men being unable, for numerous reasons, to pull their weight, quite an issue in its own right.) I read a New York Times story in the past year or so that noted that a significant number of teenage girls in the 'hood who get pregnant do so by men who are often older by four or five years, which I had never considered before. Some years ago I went out with a white woman friend from church who's been involved in anti-abortion and crisis pregnancy issues for about as long as I've known her and I learned that she came from an alcoholic family (as I do as well, I know what that entails). So when she e-mailed to me last year that she had had at least one abortion -- I don't know any details, including how many -- I was not at all surprised (though I nearly cried when she told me).

So how are Christians complicit? Well, back in the 1950s many wealthier whites began to move from the cities to the suburbs, which until recently were very unfriendly places for blacks. Property values in the city plunged because the wealther folks took their financial heft, and thus jobs, with them, thus fracturing families who either are left or forced to move there due to lack of options. My church, which is located and now ministers extensively in one of those "abandoned neighborhoods," has confronted this issue head-on -- while we do take a staunchly anti-abortion stance we realize first-hand that healing families, and not just spiritually, is Job 1. Some church members and much of our staff who can afford to live elsewhere have actually moved into the neighborhood to deliver a witness to it.

Some years ago -- I can't remember the book where I read this, but I think it was "When Bad Christians Happen to Good People" -- one thing the author mentioned was that too many Christians fight evil from a distance because our "safety" was paramount. That's why groups like the Moral Majority were so popular in the early-to-mid-1980s; people who sent in money to "clean up" our society actually feared direct involvement, really only wanting things just to go away. That view held that the easiest way to do that is to locate a target and then destroy it -- problem solved. Or maybe not, as things turned out.

That ultimately was the problem with showing the video; while it's easy to blame Planned Parenthood for what many anti-abortionists would call exploitation, what's behind it goes far, far deeper than that. And it's because of that understanding that those of us who are "pro-life" have lost a lot of authority to speak to such issues.

"Did you realize, for example, that a higher percentage of black boys are aborted? "

If this is a valid statistic, (and judging from the video it quite likely could be), it would seem to indicate that the majority of these abortions are late term; because, as a general rule, a baby’s gender can be somewhat distinguished via ultrasounds beginning at about 18 to 20 weeks at the earliest. Therefore, since the determination of gender has to be made so far into the pregnancies, these infanticides would have to be occurring very late in the second trimester or early in the third……which would necessarily be partial birth or live abortions (at such a late stage).

As Debbie commented, it’s just heartbreaking; there are no other words I can find right now to describe it.

BlueDeacon said...

littlegal_66 -- That is directly due to our culture's fear of young black males, which has always existed in some form and today is at least partially due to lack of elder guidance, which (again) is another, very long story. If they got the same encouragement, nurturing and respect that everyone else does we wouldn't have that problem.

Really, the thinking about Planned Parenthood focusing upon blacks is shallow and ignores deeper issues I'm trying to raise.

BlueDeacon said...

One thing I forgot to mention: Most people who are "pro-life" complain about a "shortage" of infants to adopt. There is, however, no shortage of babies with at least one black parent.

S.J. Walker said...

"Terminate the pregnancy". They can't say kill the baby, but it caused no discomfort when the man did. Here you have a man who is saying he wants to kill a baby (the Black issue just makes it worse) and the only response is "send the cash!".

God forgive us. God help us. There is the blood of millions on our hands.

"This is what the LORD says:
"For three sins of Ammon,
even for four, I will not turn back {my wrath}.
Because he ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead
in order to extend his borders,..."--Amos 1:13

BlueDeacon said...

S.J. -- Well, duh. It never occurs to us that they don't think the way we do, which is why they come across as so flippant. But that's just what we deserve for divorcing abortion from other issues surrounding the "sanctity of human life" -- if we hadn't done that 30 years ago we might had turned the tide by now.

The fact that this planet has not been wiped out is a testament to God's longsuffering nature. Mercy is not warranted for this; only judgment.

This is absolutely disgusting. I feel weak and nauseous after watching this. Still, I'm glad you posted it, Steve. It needs to be brought to the light so everyone is aware of how atrocious this practice is.

If people were not already convinced, this video certainly won't do it. As I see things, its only purpose is to inflame, not merely inform, and that tactic got old a long, long time ago.
