In them it looks to me like strong wording towards a belief in what I understand as pre-destination. I spent many hours listening and enjoying your music. It touched me and encouraged me as a christian as to all the other people in attendance (christian and non-christian).

But seeing your take on this matter, it makes me ask - who is it you were singing to all those concerts? Can all your words match the doctrine you now believe? I'm certainly not as learned in this subject as someone with your experience and training so I ask naively - if only certain people are destined to accept the Lord (no matter what happens) then why evangelize? The only way I can see that is if you believe that you were pre-destined to sing on a particular night (night x) so that a particular person (person y) comes to know the Lord. To me that sounds like *everything* is layed out in our lives (yours, person x and everyone else that attended your concerts) with no wiggle room. I am serious when I request - please tell me your thoughts on this. How can you reference John 3:16 but follow up with the "Elect"? Could it be that the words "us" in Ephesians 1:4-6 refer to those who believe and not the members only club?

Thanks,
ChadChadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08704937937126131420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14012689.post-50616268179768902982009-11-02T02:01:22.017-05:002009-11-02T02:01:22.017-05:00Steve,

The footnote says that the articles were taken from the Canon of Dort. Does that include the note about the Latin manuscripts?Kirby L.
